Originally founded in 2000, the company identified an opportunity to develop a new family of software for the IBM i market, developing and delivering High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions to critical infrastructure-oriented companies with large workloads and high transaction rates.

Pooling their collective co-founders experience in delivering IBM solutions to large-scale telecommunications providers, their vision was to develop a new suite of software solutions that would not only meet the needs of enterprise scale environments, but could also be packaged to provide small to medium sized companies with the same mission-critical support in a solution that was easy to install, easy to manage and delivered at an affordable price.

Maxava’s first international customer sites included a telecommunications provider in Iceland, further underscoring the company’s goals of providing software that could be scaled for use across any geography, language or business.
